Memphis May Fire with special guests: Caskets, Wind Walkers, & Elijah

Please join us for Memphis May Fire with special guests Caskets, Wind Walkers, and Elijah on Tuesday, April 29th in The Pub Station Ballroom.      MEMPHIS MAY FIRE Memphis May Fire makes anthems for the broken. The four-piece rock band channel a generation’s worth of angst, frustration, and pain, with a focused blend of gigantic melodic hooks and crushing aggression. Even after topping Billboard’s Hard Music Albums chart and breaking into radio’s Active Rock Top 20, Memphis May Fire refuses to sacrifice who they are or the fans who made them.  Memphis May Fire confronts crippling anxiety, violence, disrespect, polarization, substance abuse, and overzealous self-righteousness all over their new music, strengthened by a foundation of hope and renewal at the heart of the lyrics. A new season unfolds for the band, filled with revitalization and renewal. Stripping things down to their core elements, hearkening back to the basement band days when they created the songs their fans cherish the most, Memphis May Fire rekindled the spark within to build a blazing inferno of riffs and inspirational words, as 2021’s burst of new music demonstrates.  “I couldn’t be prouder of our new material,” frontman Matty Mullins declares. “We have melodic songs, with a sense of maturity to them, without sacrificing the energy that we still want to have live.”  The latest outbursts from Memphis May Fire were both produced and mixed by Kellen McGregor, the band’s guitarist who co-founded the group roughly 15 years ago. The longtime rhythm section of bassist Cory Elder and drummer Jake Garland inject the songs with infinite depth and focus. Cameron Mizell, who coproduced 2014 fan-favorite Unconditional with McGregor, produced Matty’s vocals.Memphis May Fire functions as a sonic confessional, in opposition to the dark brokenness engulfing so many in the modern age, an idea stretching back to the band’s first full-length album, 2009’s Sleepwalking. Songs like “Miles Away,” “No Ordinary Love,” “Beneath the Skin,” “Vices,” “Stay the Course,” and “Carry On” account for 100 million views on YouTube and millions of on-demand audio streams. It’s a testament to the energized connectivity between the band and their audience. The unity of purpose is palpable at a Memphis May Fire show, as both the audience and band share their life experiences, dreams, and fears, through the power of transcendent music. As important as it is to see the light at the end of the tunnel, there is a great strength to be gained from a sobering, stark look at how it feels to be in the throes of adversity. Memphis May Fire crafts the sound of hope from struggle, delivered by a dedicated group of men who aspire to something more with their art.     Etix is the ONLY authorized ticketing agent outside of Pub Station box office. Laura Jane Grace & The Mississippi Medicals

Please join us for Laura Jane Grace & The Mississippi Medicals with special guests Alex Lahey and Rodeo Boys on Sunday April 27th in The Pub Station Taproom.      Laura Jane Grace is a major figure in today’s rock scene as both a solo artist and the front person of Against Me!, which she founded in Naples, FL in the late 1990s. As a working artist, she has released six solo offerings and seven albums with Against Me!, and in 2012 went public with her gender transition in the pages of Rolling Stone. In her music, she continues to detail her journey all while staying true to her earlier themes of outspoken political critique – environmentalism along with personal and social liberation – with a base in American music including country and folk-rock, with a penchant for noise and anarchy. Laura Jane will be joined by her band “The Mississippi Medicals” featuring Matt Patton of Drive-By Truckers (bass), Mikey Erg of The Ergs (drums) and Paris Campbell Grace (vocals, percussion).         Etix is the ONLY authorized ticketing agent outside of Pub Station box office. Love Your Locals: KIRKS GROCERY EDITION

Join us for LOVE YOUR LOCALS: KIRKS GROCERY EDITION featuring HELIX.EXT, MARAUD, and BRONTOPS in the Pub Station Taproom on Friday, December 13th.  HELIX.EXT HELIX.EXT core members, Jon Lodge (trumpet/electronics) & Shane de Leon (drums/guitar) improvise alongside bassist and new collaborator, Monte Allen. The inventive improvised pieces of free-noise funk skip by, fluttering in & out, repetitive grooves with distorto-trumpet feedback and rhythmic drone bop. Zone / freak out to this mix of free improvisation, & kicked out jams.      Monte Allen started legendary Portland, OR group Rollerball/RLLRBLL in 1993 with Mae Starr and Gilles. The original trio is still going strong. De Leon served a decade in Rollerball but departed in 2007 to begin Miss Massive Snowflake. This recording is Monte and Shane’s first time playing together in 15 years.    Jon Lodge attended Berklee College of Music & has fostered free jazz, musique concrete, minimalism, & experimental music for decades in Billings, Montana. His visual art is in museums & galleries throughout the US. A whirlwind of ideas, energy, & love of life. MARAUD Maraud is a Post industrial project started in 2019. Maraud seeks through their recordings and live performances to present sounds, texts, and information which unflinchingly confronts the topics of mistreatment of Indigenous Peoples of Turtle Island. The cultural and spiritual war against settler colonialist fascism, the myth of white supremacy, and the inner turmoil of Indigenous Peoples’ continued struggle for survival on their homelands are realities that Maraud tackles in their work. Drawing upon their Northern Arapaho heritage and their experiences living as an Indigenous person in the so called “land of the free”, Maraud creates a sound influenced by those experiences as well as drawing upon many sects of post industrial media.   Love Your Locals is an ongoing series at Pub Station that showcases and supports local talent, as well as provides music industry education opportunities throughout the year. Stranded By Choice Album Release

Please join us for Stranded By Choice album release on Saturday December 7th in The Pub Station Taproom with special guests, Render Me Silent.    Montana based rock band Stranded By Choice has toured and recorded for over a decade. SBC pulls elements of southern rock, thrash and punk to create a unique sound and an unforgettable live performance.  Their fourth studio album Neptune’s Gate was released last year and is available on all streaming services. Stranded By Choice has been featured in Powerplay Magazine, Noise and Color Magazine, Billings Gazette, Paste Magazine’s “50 States Project” as well as numerous online publications, blogs, and reviews. They recently completed a 10-date tour of the Southern U.S. and are set to release a live compilation album later this year.  Visit www.strandedbychoice.com to keep up on the latest news, shows and more.  “There’s an element to Stranded By Choice that’s decidedly old fashioned, and it’s not just their spacy, epic album covers. They name check bands like Clutch, Thin Lizzy and Mountain as influences. And you can hear it. There’s a touch of Clutch’s Neil Fallon to Feeley’s throaty vocals. Stranded By Choice have a deep, powerfully precise rhythm section that echoes Mountain. And Young and Rutt run around their fretboards at lightning pace, just like Thin Lizzy’s groundbreaking guitarist Gary Moore.

But if there’s one thing that Stranded by Choice sound like more than anything else, it’s themselves. They’re a band that is totally confident in their sound. There’s just nobody else like them.”  -Billings Gazette ’23            Etix is the ONLY authorized ticketing agent outside of Pub Station box office.
