Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs, The Last Revel

Laney Lou and the Bird DogsLaney Lou and the Bird Dogs are an energetic Americana band from Bozeman, Montana, that infuses four-part harmonies, engaging songwriting, and rock-n-roll drive into a modern approach to traditional folk music. Coming from varied musical backgrounds, the five-person ensemble creates a sound unique to them, but one that finds common ground by adding the energy of Montana’s big sky country into their music. The Bird Dogs weave stories through their songs that are reflective, joyous, longing, or meant to share a journey with the listener. Through it all, the band is able to convey heartfelt honesty, getting the audience to immerse themselves in the moment by dancing, singing and laughing along. The Bird Dogs have been taking their infectious sound on the road since 2013, supporting acts such as The Travelin’ McCourys, The Steeldrivers, The Steep Canyon Rangers, The Jeff Austin Band, Amy Helm, Leftover Salmon, Town Mountain, and many more. The most recent album from Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs, Through the Smoke, was recorded in February of 2021 at The Panoramic House in Stinson Beach, CA. This album is one of personal transformation. The concept of letting things go, processing past and current situations, and moving forward has been ever present in 2020-2021, as the world went through trials beyond words. Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs found a way to represent their journey through hardship, while also celebrating the silver linings and breakthrough moments in their lives. Through the Smoke brings energy to the darkness, and proves that resilience can get us through the hardest of times. The Bird Dogs released a live self-titled studio album in 2016, recorded at Basecamp Studio in Bozeman. Their follow-up album, titled The Vigilante Session, was recorded live at a forest service cabin in the Ruby mountains. In 2019 Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs recorded their first full-length studio album, Sweet Little Lies, at Prairie Sun Records in Cotati CA. Their live album, Live at the Filling Station, was recorded in 2019 at the Filling Station in Bozeman MT and released in 2020. Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs consists of Lena (Laney) Schiffer on vocals/guitar/percussion, Matt Demarais on vocals/banjo, Ethan Demarais on bass, Brian Kassay on fiddle/mandolin/harmonica, and Josh Moore on vocals/guitar.

Counting Coup Album Release Show

Counting CoupCoup, pronounced “ko͞o”, meaning to strike. In Native American culture, counting coup is the ultimate display of bravery. It comes in many forms but the most known is to touch your enemy in battle, showing that you could have taken their life and chose not to. No matter the case, counting coup always includes risking one’s life for the sake of honor and bravery.Counting Coup is just a band of heathens, laying our life on the line, and playing for anyone that will listen. Formed January 2018, in midst of the hardest winter we’ve seen to date, we are a western-blues-folk-rock group consisting of front man, Troy Falcon (bass/guitar/vocals), along with Toby Falcon (guitar/vocals), Brenden Fritzler (harmonica), and Matt Kuhl (drums). With a broad range of influences, we have many greats to look up to and will, unapologetically, throw in a cover or two amongst our originals. With captivating lyrics and melodies that truly capture the soul of the song, you can’t help but connect with it. We are no stranger to loss and hardship; but we believe there is power in what you listen to. Music has had a profound effect on our lives and we hope to pay that forward.

OPIUO

OpiuoEmotional connections to art & artists are at the very core of who we are as humanity. Seldom is this phenomenon felt more powerfully than inside the wonderful world of Opiuo. A genre-bending plethora of auditory and visual masterclasses upon which Oscar Davey-Wraight has built his highly respected, forward-thinking career. Born in 1984 in rural New Zealand, his parents provided the land upon which music festivals were held, unveiling the magic of live music to Opiuo at a young age. This extremely formative growth surrounded by the early incarnations of Aotearoa’s electronic music scene exposed him to the beautiful celebration of life through self-expression, dance, and giant sound systems. These experiences directly shaped so much of who he is & what he stands for today. Positivity and movement at the core of the project, his music is an infectious electronic-based blend of funk, soul, psychedelia, and booty-shaking bass. Now calling Australia home, Oscar frequently tours his party-starting music throughout the globe. Having spent more than a decade performing at some of the world’s most renowned festivals and venues including Lollapalooza (US), Glastonbury (UK), and Splendour In The Grass (AU), as well as selling out Colorado’s world-famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre, he’s performed his music in an unimaginably large array of formats. From the self-built SYZYGY Orchestras, to collaborating with symphony choirs, touring his own Opiuo Band, and most recently as an immersive solo audio & visual show, his live creativity is limitless. Well and truly risking it all in the name of expression & freedom inside what is possible as an electronic producer and performer, to incredible praise. His decades of evolution have been rewarded, taking home the New Zealand Music Award for Best Electronic Album in 2014, and his catalogue is vast. Having released 4 full-length albums, 10 EPs, and a myriad of singles and remixes over the last 12 years. His 5th studio album is titled “A Shape Of Sound” and is on the way this August. His most diverse, expansive, and detailed yet.

William Clark Green

William Clark GreenIn the proudly independent Texas-country scene, it’s not easy to separate yourself – or to evolve once you have. But for almost 15 years, William Clark Green has done both with a nod to his home state itself, both rooted in the past and barreling toward the future.Boasting sandpaper vocals and country-rock sound at the crossroads of back-alley grit and gravel-road grace, the Flint, Texas, native emerged like many others before – sauntering out from Lubbock’s live music loving college-bar scene. But he has since carved a space that is uniquely his own. Pairing singer-songwriter tradition with a progressive musical mindset, he’s both a troubadour of troubled souls and maestro to lyrical mischief, renowned for underdog anthems filled with sardonic wit, vivid characters and even historical curiosity. Over five previous albums, multiple Number Ones on Texas Regional Radio have joined iTunes Country Album chart toppers, the respect of critics and peers and a vibrant touring profile anchored on Texas’ biggest stages. But even after so much success, two years of treading water left Green looking to get beyond his comfort zone. “My whole mentality is that if my voice went out tomorrow, or I lost my arm and my career ended, I’ve got nothing but gratefulness,” Green explains, flashing his signature sense of dark humor. “But in some ways, we wanted to reach and see what else is out there. I think the band is ready, I think I’m ready, and it’s not really about money or anything. It’s about feeling that high again, feeling that new-ness.” Returning with Baker Hotel, his sixth studio album and first in almost four years, Green goes after that new-ness with an open mind, and the thoughtful approach of roots-rock poet. Just as each album before it, he continues mixing Lone-Star mythos into his storytelling, this time occupying an abandoned monument to the past in Mineral Wells, Texas. But as he hinted above, Baker Hotel takes his craft to new heights. Even for an artist who’s fans expect the unexpected, it finds Green raising his game to the proverbial penthouse suite. Featuring 13 tracks and the return of producer Rachel Loy (Rose Queen, Ringing Road), the set taps everything from lush ‘80s pop to classic highway rock and traditional Western balladry, as Green seeks out new sonic connections – and probes deeper into his soul than ever. The set arrives after a grueling 2019 tour which featured more than 170 shows, then the isolation of a pandemic shutdown, and it’s that push and pull of burnout, creative detox and almost-meditative rejuvenation that drives the project – all captured through the eyes of a deadpanning interstate philosopher. “Songwriting is such a weird deal for me, because everything I write about is true,” Green admits. “What this record means to me is self-reflection, realizing that I just turned 35 and it’s like ‘Where am I at in life? Where do I want to be? Where did I think I would be?’ Not being able to work, I had a lot of time to sit and think about myself, and what’s really locking me down, and that’s what I think this record is about.” The title track best captures the dual nature of that growth. Waiting until early 2021 to record, Green gathered a small group in his guitar player’s Texas home studio – his first in-state recording since 2010’s Misunderstood – and they simply let the spirit move them…
