ABOUT CITIZEN SOLDIER
Citizen Soldier was born when frontman Jake Segura penned the lyrics to one of their first songs from a psychiatric hospital in Salt Like City, Utah. Segura now sits on the other side of the therapy couch, working as a licensed trauma counselor to tell the stories of those navigating internal struggles through a no-frills alt/rock/post/grunge packaging. The Utah five piece of members Jake Segura (lead vocals) Wonitta (bass / piano) Kyle Persell (drums) Kooper Hanosky(rhythm guitar), and Matt Duffney (lead guitar) doesn’t tip toe around the ugliest parts of life, masterfully communicating what many struggle to put into words. They do so through soaring melodic power balladry, infectious instrumental hooks, and gut-punching storytelling.
